DiagnoCine Precision Service for Microbial Identification

Our Microbial Identification Services

Our microbial identification service provides rapid, accurate, and reliable identification on non-pathogenic bacteria, fungi, and yeasts from a variet of sample types. We use advanced technologies - including DNA sequencing, mass spectrometry, and traditional phenotypic methods - to deliver results you can trust for regulatory compliance, contamination control, and research needs.

  • Identify unknown non-pathogenic microbial isolates from environment, product, or process samples.
  • Confirm the identity of production strains and monitor for strain drift.
  • Support root cause analysis, food, environmental, and industrial applications.
  • Suitable for pharmaceutical, food, environmental, and industrial applications.
  • Whole Genome Sequencing preparation and service available. Must inquire!
Important: For the safety of our staff and compliance with regulations, we accept only non-pathogenic samples. Please do not submit any materials classified as pathogenic, hazardous, or requiring special biosafety containment.

How Our Service Works

1. Sample Submission
Submit your samples as single colonies on plates, slants, broths, or liquid media.
We accept a range of sample types, including swabs, contaminated products, and environmental isolates.
All samples must be non-pathogenic. Please contact us if you have questions about sample eligibility.

2. Laboratory Processing
Samples are cultured (if needed) and prepared for analysis.
For bacteria: DNA is extracted, and the 16S rRNA gene is amplified and sequenced.
For fungi/yeasts: ITS and/or 28S rRNA gene regions are sequenced.  Other genomic regions will be sequenced as needed.
* Whole Genome Sequencing preparation and service available. Must inquire!

3. Data Analysis
Genetic sequences or protein spectra are compared to validated reference databases for genus, species, and, where possible, strain-level identification.
Results are interpreted, analyzed by bioinformatics and reviewed by scientific team.

4. Reporting
Receive a detailed certificate of analysis, including organism identity, closest database matches, supporting data (e.g., electropherograms, phylogenetic trees), and recommendations if requested.

5. Turnaround Time
Standard turnaround time: 5-15 business days for most services. Difficult genomic regions or rare species may take longer turnaournd time.

If we are unable to obtain any results from your sample, we offer a 50% refund of your service fee.
Please consult with scientific team first prior to sending in samples.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What types of microorganisms can you identify?
A: We identify non-pathogenic bacteria, fungi, and yeasts from environment, product, and process samples. We do not accept clinical pathogens or any samples suspected to contain pathogenic organisms.

Q: How long does the identification process take?
A: Turnaround time ranges from 1-5 business says, depending on the method and sample type. Expedited options are available for urgent needs.

Q: What information will I receive in the report?
A: Reports include genus, species, and, where possible, strain-level identification, supporting data, and a certificate of analysis. Phylogenetic trees and sequence data can be provided upon request.

Q: Why is microbial identification important?
A: Accurate identification supports contamination control, regulatory compliance, product safety, and root cause analysis in manufacturing and research environments.

Q: What sample types do you accept?
A: We accept pure cultures on plates, slants, or broths, as well as mixed cultures, swabs, and contaminated products - as long as they are confirmed or presumed non-pathogenic. Please consult us for guidance on sample preparation.

Q: How is payment processed?
A: Service poducts must be prepaid. However, we do offer a 50% return of the service fee is no result is obtained.

Please note that prepayment is required for all PCR services.
We strive to deliver accurate and timely results. However, in the rare event that no result is obtained from your sample, we will refund 50% of the service fee as a courtesy.
