Thienodolin was isolated from the fermentation broth of Streptomyces albogriseolus MJ286-76F7. 1) It showed growth promoting activity to rice seedlings at 1.2×10-6 – 1.2×10-5 M but inhibited the growth at 4.0×10-5 M. 1 The structure of thienodolin was determined by an X-ray analysis. 2 The synthesis of thienodolin and its congeners were studied. 3,4)
