Filtration Syringe

Description

Syringe filters come in "polyvinylidene difluoride" (PVDF) membrane and "polyether sulfone" (PES) membrane configurations that offer flexibility for your specific project goals. Syringe filters provide the filtration of fine biological particles to prevent contamination of samples and produce reliable results.

Polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) membrane syringe filters are great for western blotting applications, amino acid analysis and protein sequencing. PVDF membrane syringe filters may be used for applications such as western, northern, Southern and dot blots as they have a high binding affinity for proteins and nucleic acids. PVDF membranes are hydrophobic and require wetting agents.

Polyether sulfone (PES) membrane syringe filters are ideal for preparation of biological samples, they have low protein biding capability. They are a great tool for preparing sterile cell culture media, microbiology fluids. Syringe filters equipped with PES membranes do not require wetting, as the membrane is hydrophilic. In addition, the PES membrane syringe filters are a good fit for protein recovery and drug recovery protocols.
