A natural product with a β-lactone ring that specifically inhibits serine carboxypeptidase Y (CP-Y).
Application Notes:
Belactin A was isolated from culture filtrate of Saccharopolyspora sp. MK19-42F6. Its structure was
determined by various spectral analyses. Belactin A had specific inhibitory activity toward
carboxypeptidase Y (IC50 = 0.18 μg/ml) compared with other β-lactone-containing inhibitors, such as
ebelactones A and B and esterastin.
