Description:
High Peformance Wheat Germ Extract that has been contained an abundance of the translation factors that are required for protein synthesis.
Improved removal performance against His-like proteins composed of wheat germ. Exhibits a higher level of GST-tagged fusion protein purity compared to WEPRO8240.
The amino acid-free WEPRO®8240/WEPRO®8240G/WEPRO®8840H wheat germ extracts are prepared according to special procedures assuring a very high protein synthesis activity. This extracts only work in combination with the Transcription Buffer LM and the translation buffer SUB-AMIX-SGC-NA. DO NOT use other buffer systems when working with wheat germ extract of the WEPRO®8240 series. Since these reagents are amino acid-free, users MUST add the necessary amino acids before use!
Wheat germ extract WEPRO®8240G was precleared on a glutathione resin and is intended for expressing proteins having a GST-tag.
Wheat germ extract WEPRO®8240H was precleared on a Ni resin and is intended for expressing proteins having a His-tag.
Refer to our protocols for more information on how this product can be used in transcription reactions and in combination with our wheat germ cell-free protein expression system.
Shipment and Storage:
Our products are shipped on dry ice. Store the wheat germ extracts at -80°C upon arrival. These reagents are highly temperature sensitive and should be always stored in a freezer at -80°C. Keep reagents on ice while using them at the bench. Avoid unnecessary freeze/thawing. A wheat germ extract may be thawed up to 3 times before losing its activity. Use of liquid nitrogen is recommended for shock freezing wheat germ extracts. When using the reagent, mix it gently by pipetting several times. Avoid bubbling.
