World’s cleanest buffer for all cell and molecular biology experiments
This is a potassium-rich, sodium-poor buffer that serves as a specialized reconstitution solution. This formulation is notable for its high potassium chloride (KCl) concentration, which is significantly higher than that found in standard physiological buffers like PBS. The presence of dipotassium hydrogen phosphate (K2HPO4) helps to maintain a specific pH, likely in the slightly alkaline range. The sodium chloride (NaCl) content is lower compared to most biological buffers, as this solution is tailored for experiments or procedures where low sodium concentrations are crucial. Such a composition could be particularly useful for studies involving potassium-dependent cellular processes, investigations of membrane protein function in high-potassium environments, or experiments aimed at mimicking intracellular ionic conditions, which typically feature higher potassium and lower sodium concentrations compared to extracellular fluids.
Application:
- Intracellular environment simulation: The high potassium and low sodium concentrations mimic the ionic composition inside cells.
- Potassium channel studies: Ideal for experiments involving potassium channels or potassium-dependent cellular processes.
- Protein reconstitution: May be used for reconstituting membrane proteins that function optimally in high-potassium environments.
- Enzyme kinetics: Suitable for studying enzymes that require or are affected by high potassium concentrations.
- Electrophysiology experiments: Could be used in patch-clamp studies or other electrophysiological investigations where high potassium is needed.
- Cell culture: Potentially useful for specialized cell culture applications requiring high potassium levels.
- Biochemical assays: May be employed in assays where standard PBS or other common buffers are not optimal due to their sodium content.

All DiagnoCine Precision Sterile buffers are filtered-sterilized with a 0.1-micron filtration two times and 0.04-micron filtration one time. Thus, mycoplasma contamination is prevented. The smallest size mycoplasma type can be about 0.2 microns.
