QuickBlue Staining Solution stains proteins in polyacrylamide gel after SDS gel electrophoresis (detection limit >= 8 ng of protein) with * Coomassie®-G250. All processes including washing and destaining processes can be performed in 1.5 hr. After staining of gel (20 min), proteins can be seen before destaining. Overnight staining and overnight destaining is allowable.

- All processes including washing and destaining can be performed in about 90 minutes.
- Protein bands of gel in QuickBlue Staining Solution are observable after several minutes of staining.
- Detection limits is as much as 8 ng of protein (BSA).
- Only deionized water is requied washing and destaining.

- Acetic Acid and Ethanol are not required. Only deionized water is required for washing and destaining.
- 500 mL of QuickBlue Staining Solution can stain about 20 mini-gels.
- Put acrylamide gel after SDS-PAGE into a tray containing 100-200 ml of deionized distilled water and washed it three times for every 5 minute with gentle agitation.
- Discard water in the tray and add 25 ml of QuickBlue Staining Solution to one piece of mini gel (8 x10 cm, 1 mm thick). Stain the gel for 20 min with gentle agitation.
- After QuickBlue Staining Solution in the tray is discarded, rinse the gel with deionized water and add fresh 100-200 ml of deionized water in the tray. Destain the gel over 1 hr with gentle agitation. Change deionized water to fresh one when the water in the tray turn to be blue.Time required for destaining depends on staining time. See tables below for more information. Repeat destaining, if background is high
QuickBlue Staining Solution dyes the bottom of gel greenish color. It can be decolorized by immersing the gel in deionized water overnight. The stained gel is stable in deionized water for a few days (4 o C).
Note
QuickBlue Staining Solution can’t be re-used. Since QuickBlue Staining Solution dyes the skin, please wear gloves throughout using QuickBlue Staining Solution.

Information for using QuickBlue Staining Solution
1- Amount of water or QuickBlue Staining Solution required for one mini gel (8 x 10 cm, 1 mm thick). When gel size or tray size is large, use suitable amount of QuickBlue Staining Solution so that the gel can be immersed completely in the solution.

Destain for at least 1 hr, otherwise the stained band fades out in about one week The gel can be destained overnight without decolorizing of proteins.
