Application
O-carbamyl-D-serine was isolated from the fermentation broth of streptomyces.1,2) It had weak activity against Gram-positive bacteria and inhibited bacterial cell wall biosynthesis as a D-alanine antagonist.2,3) It showed synergistic activity with D-4-amino-3-isoxazolidone and rescued 30% of mice from the intraperitoneal infection of S. aureus.3)
