Description
Nerve growth factor inducible factor I-B alpha (NGFI-Ba, NAK1, TR3; NR4A1) is a member of orphan nuclear receptor. NGFI-Ba is expressed in brain, adrenal, thyroid, liver, testis, ovary, thymus, muscle, lung and prostate. Its expression is induced in response to various stress stimuli and growth factors. NGFI-Ba is involved in mediating apoptotic signaling in thymocytes and tumor cells, as well as having a role in signaling in the hypothalamic-pituitary axis. RXR has been shown to be a partner for NR4A1.
Origin
Produced in BALB/c mouse ascites after inoculation with hybridoma of mouse myeloma cells (NS-1) and spleen cells derived from a BALB/c mouse immunized with Baculovirus-expressed recombinant human NGFI-B alpha (2-249 aa) .
Note
Sodium azide may react with lead and copper plumbing to form explosive metal azides. Flush with large amounts of water during disposal.
